Offered is a vintage Goebel M.I. Hummel figurine, “Goose Girl,” HUM 47/0, in the sought-after Full Bee period.A young Bavarian girl in a polka-dot kerchief, black bodice and pale yellow apron leans back with her hands tucked behind her while two white geese stretch their necks toward her, hoping for a treat. Softly modeled and beautifully hand-painted, with fine feather detail on the geese and warm shading throughout.Originally sculpted by master modeler Arthur Moeller in 1936 and known in early catalogues as “Little Gooseherd,” Goose Girl is the definitive Hummel design and a cornerstone of any collection.Markings: Impressed “47/0” and impressed “M.I. Hummel” signature on the top of the base. Underside with embossed bee, stamped bee-in-V trademark and “Germany” (Full Bee, TMK-2, c. 1950–1959).Early feature: This example retains the tuft of grass between the geese, found on older models and absent from later production.Dimensions: Approx. 4¾–5” tall on an oval base approx. 3½” x 2½”.Condition: Very good vintage condition — no cracks or repairs found.
