There is some wear on the gold paint. Please see pictures closely. What looks like a crack in the photo, in my opinion, is a flaw in the glass blowing. The crease is not rough and I have never believed it to be a crack. I can provide more photos or a video, but to me it seems more like a crease in the glass. I have owned the piece for awhile and have put flowers inside it on many occasions with no problems. But I do want buyers to be aware of the flaw. This piece is quite heavy and very beautiful.
