LISTED HERE A MAGNIFICENT MOUNTEDPRINT FROM THE ARCHIVES.
HISTORY OF RAILWAYS IN IRELAND
Seen here the Ulster Railway station at Portadown, County Armagh, constructed in 1861-2 to a design by Sir John Macneill. It is interesting to note that this building will shortly be demolished and replaced by a new station at Woodhouse Street on the west side of the Bann and nearer the town centre. This was precisely the site of the second Ulster Railway station at Portadown, opened in 1848, which Macneill's station replaced.
