This antique stereoview card captures a dramatic historical moment from the Italian campaign in Libya. The scene depicts an Italian carabiniere on horseback pursuing and apprehending an Arab spy, who is notably wearing a carabinieri jacket. The detailed composition provides a fascinating glimpse into early 20th-century military operations and colonial conflicts. This stereograph features a flat cardboard mount, presenting two identical images side-by-side, designed to create a three-dimensional effect when viewed through a stereoscope. The original Italian caption printed on the card reads: "Un arabo spia, indossante una giubba da carabiniere, viene inseguito ed arrestato dal carabiniere Chiacchio." This translates to: "An Arab spy, wearing a carabinieri jacket, is pursued and arrested by the carabinieri Chiacchio."
