Heavy 12” Japan Square Vase
The selected region highlights a vintage Japanese square porcelain vase featuring a striking navy blue and white motif.
The design portrays an auspicious scene of flying red-crowned cranes (tsuru) over stylized sea waves (seigaiha). Pieces with this exact pattern are highly collectible and were famously produced mid-to-late 20th century in Japan by decorators such as Elan Takahashi (distributed in San Francisco) and for major retailers like Hudson's department store.
