Historical Interest
Leather postcards were a distinctive novelty of the early 1900s. Unlike traditional paper postcards, these were manufactured using thin leather and frequently featured embossed illustrations, humorous sayings, and hand-colored decorative details.
Many surviving examples show substantial wear because of the natural aging of the leather.
These two postcards represent an interesting piece of early American postal history and novelty postcard collecting.
