Matrix specimens of Herkimer Diamond perched on Druze of this elite caliber are beyond rare, you won't see many like this!!
It is comprised of a piece of dolostone matrix which is covered with a layer of gray druzy quartz with an array of dozens of larger Herkimer Diamonds perched on top, the largest measuring over 1.30 inches in length! The crystals mostly have excellent clarity while some are slight more milky, with sharp terminations and featuring gorgeous internal rainbows. It appears that a few small crystals have broken off of the matrix, but this specimen is otherwise in immaculate condition.
There is one repaired crystal and some reconstruction was required to prepare it, which is typical of matrix specimens of this variety. Mined by hand in the Spring of 2026.
