Impressive large-scale vintage Italian sculpture depicting a powerful male lion in a dramatic standing and roaring pose.
The sculpture features particularly nice modeling throughout, including a deeply textured flowing mane, muscular body and legs, expressive face and open mouth, detailed paws, and an exceptionally long curved tail. The dark black/ebonized finish gives the sculpture a striking bronze-like appearance.
The piece bears aMADE IN JAPANmarking on the leg.
