Up for sale is an authentic, highly valuable 1959 first-edition Mid-Century Modern "Duckling" designed by the legendary Danish architect Hans Bølling and manufactured by Torben Ørskov & Co. in Denmark. Inspired by a famous 1959 traffic-stopping family of ducks in Frederiksberg, this iconic piece of Scandinavian design features a beautiful, rich solid teak wood grain. The head sits on its original wooden pivot peg, allowing it to smoothly turn and tilt to alter the duckling's expression.The bottom of the foot features a crisp, fully legible original stamped maker's mark reading: "HANS BØLLING / T. ØRSKOV & CO / DENMARK". This guarantees it is an authentic mid-century piece, not a modern replica.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. The wood is structurally sound with no cracks, deep gouges, or dry-out. The signature stamp is exceptionally bold. Please view all photos carefully.
