Mid Century West German Ceramic Horse Wall Plaque Glazed Heavy Relief Studio Art
Stylized leaping horse motif in high relief. Rich, variegated glaze coloration fired into the surface, not painted. Graphic silhouette, dark outlined form, are characteristic of 1960s–1970s West German studio ceramics
Consistent with German workshop or studio production practices of the period. Unsigned, as many studio plaques were, and fitted with a hanging wire/leather cord(broken) typical of export wall pieces. Family provenance: original owner's mother brought the plaque from Germany when she migrated.
Dimensions: 8.5 inches tall × 16 inches wide HEAVY 10#
Very good preowned vintage condition. No specific flaws noted: leather hanging strap broke—please review all photos carefully. As with any vintage piece, minor signs of age and use may be present along with age-appropriate surface character.
