Despite its diminutive size, the detailing is remarkably fine. The lid depicts an intricate folklore scene featuring figures and black steeds set against a backdrop of golden-domed buildings. The vibrant tempera painting is framed by delicate, shimmering gold scrollwork borders—a signature technique of the Kholui painters. The bottom edge features hand-written Cyrillic script indicating the village origin and the artist's signature.
