Subsequently, sheets and gold wire are inlaid with burins, reproducing a drawing previously transferred to the base metal.,To achieve perfect adhesion of the gold sheets and threads, they are struck with chisels. The next step is the oxidation of the gold-free areas, which is carried out by a chemical process called pavon, which manages to give the non-damascene areas an intense black that contrasts with the gold...Once the piece has been oxidized, the areas with gold are again struck by means of metal burins, to give the gold shines and mattes that enhance the work done..Finally, the pieces are lacquered so that their beauty remains unchanged over time..
