About the Underglaze Transfer Technique
The design is first printed on washi paper and then transferred onto the ceramic surface, coated with a glass glaze, and fired at approximately 1340°C.
This high-temperature firing creates a soft, refined finish. The motifs are painted using traditional cobalt blue (gosu), which pairs beautifully with white porcelain.
Slight variations in tone, shading, and blurring may occur due to differences in firing conditions, making each piece uniquely expressive. Please enjoy these natural characteristics as part of the charm of handmade ceramics.
