NATIVE AMERICAN WAYNE & VIRGINIA QUAM INLAYED BELT BUCKLE: The buckle is 3 3/8” wide and 2 1/2” tall. It is exceptionally deep (5/8”) and heavy and fits a 1 ¾” belt. There are more than 50 stones of turquoise, coral, jet, and mother of pearl set side by side with no gaps. This is a masterpiece of lapidary inlay. It is signed clearly on the back and presumably also shows the name of the original owner. The silver border is deeply carved. This is an amazing one of a kind masterpiece, and one of the finest examples of Native American inlay art.
