NOS! Case of 12 Boxes Vintage 1940’s-50’s Presto Blued-Sterilized½” Carpet Tacks

This listing is for acase of twelve (12) 2-ounce boxes of vintage Presto Blued-Sterilized CarpetTacks, No. 2, ¼” long. The new old stocksmall tacks come from the liquidation of a local family-owned hardwarestore. Manufactured by Snell-JonesTacks, Inc. of New York, NY, these vintage boxes of carpet tacks date to the1940’s – 1950’s. The case and boxes arein very good condition with some light foxing, staining, and spotting to theouter case. The top layer of boxes is slightlyyellowed (images of 2 boxes show a box from both layers). Each box contains 1/8 of a pound of No. 2carpet tacks or 2 ounces. You willreceive one (1) case of twelve (12) boxes!Each box measures approximately 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” x 1-1/16” and the casemeasures about 5-1/2” x 3-3/4” x 2-1/2”.

Useless Information: The carpet tacks are sterilized by atechnique known as “blueing”, where the steel is heated until a blue oxide filmappears. Sterilized tacks came about inthe 1920’s for upholsterers who put the tacks in their mouths.
