Here is an excellent copy of issue #2 from the 1968 Series, Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D (July 1968) in Very Fine Condition by Jim Steranko. The comic, published by Marvel Comics, reflects the superhero genre of US Comics and is a collectible item for fans of Nick Fury and Marvel Comics. This issue has a clear backboard allowing you to view both sides whereas the general white backboards do not offer this advantage. In this issue - Off the Pacific Coast, en route to the Heli-Carrier Fury and Jimmy Woo are knocked out of the sky and wind up on a volcanic island transformed into a Garden of Eden and biological laboratory by Centurius, a scientist who disappeared in the 1930s when his theories were scoffed at. After creating both new and extinct forms of life and sending them into space Centurius plans to rain down fire on the Earth for forty days and forty nights, cleansing it and starting the world anew. With the help of a visiting movie company and their robot gorilla prop, Fury and Woo put the kibosh on his plans.
The condition is in low level Very Fine, and all of the pages are completely intact. Per the O.W.L. scale (Overstreet Whiteness Level), it has OFF-WHITE-WHITE pages. The Staples are strong and not loose, discolored, or rusted – they are nice and shiny. The color is excellent and in very glossy condition retaining its original luster and bright inks on the colors. A small ding is present on the upper right corner that extends int the pages of this issue - pressing will remove this defect. There are some spinal color breaks and stress lines on the spine as noted in the photos. The are some imperfections on the front and back cover that could be easily removed if pressed the issue by an recognized service, and this could grade between an 8.0 – 8.5, or higher if the issue was pressed.
Shipping is USPS Ground Advantage and packaged in the famous GEMINI comic mailers plus it will have bubble wrap protecting the comic. I will insert an Envelope over the GEMINI box to make sure it has additional protection. It will be very well protected. All packages have tracking so your item can be tracked all the way to your residence. Insurance is included to ensure your comic arrives safely at your residence.
