“Fabulous First Issue!” This is where Richard Rider, a New York high-school kid, is given the powers of the Nova Corps and becomes the Human Rocket. It’s a real Bronze Age first appearance, not a first-issue-only key.
AUTHENTICITY
Verified against the indicia, photographed in shot 09. It reads:

575 Madison Avenue and Cadence Industries are both correct for 1976. Original first printing.
CONDITION: VF 8.0. The flaws, first:
- There’s a small dent in the upper left of the UPC box, just below the “09”. It’s visible in the side-lit shot (02) and barely visible in shot 01. It doesn’t break the colour.
- There’s a tiny ding at the very tip of the top-left corner (shot 05).
- Pages are light tan, which is typical for 1976 newsprint.
- The small “B/S” mark in the lower cover art, just right of the barcode, is printed. It’s part of the original art, not writing, and has the same ink and line weight as the surrounding other three corners are sharp (shots 06-08).
- No creases. Shot 02 is lit from the side specifically to find them.
- The cover is bright and glossy, with strong, saturated colours.
- The spine is flat and tight and the book lies flat (shot 04).
- The back cover is bright and clean.
- The staples are seated and the centerfold is attached (shot 11).
- Complete. No tape, tears, water damage or pieces missing.
