British Airways flew their last transatlantic Concorde service on October 24, 2003. To commemorate the date, British Airways took out advertisements in national papers across the United States to offer the supersonic jet farewell. I happened to be a subscriber to the USA Today at the time and kept the full page color advertisement that was printed in my issue. I had it laminated using a thin lamination to protect the paper a month or so after the paper was printed.Top Text Reads:“She flew for what we stand for.”
Bottom Text Reads:"It's true that Concorde was an icon of speed. And glamour. But more importantly, she has inspired an ideal of service for the entire airline, one which treats each passenger with grace and courtesy, no matter what the flight or where the destination.So while today we say farewell to a plane faster than sound, we do so knowing her high standards will echo far into the future.”
