Up for sale is a pair of incredibly rare, museum-quality antique American Brilliant Period (ABP) hand-cut lead crystal bowls in the "Propeller" pattern which includes the "Cane" pattern.Cut by the renowned F.X. Parsche & Sons Glass Co. of Chicago (circa 1892–1917), this specific pattern was produced exclusively for Marshall Field & Company and appeared in their luxury department store catalogs. It is widely recognized by collectors as one of the most highly detailed, deeply cut, and intensely geometric patterns of the entire Brilliant Era. Masterfully cut right up to the rim, giving it a dramatic, heavy sawtooth profile. The heavy, high-lead crystal content gives off a brilliant refraction and a clear, resonant musical chime when tapped.Finding a Parsche Propeller piece with no damage is exceptionally rare due to the complexity and sharpness of the edge cuts, finding 2 identical pieces is significant. The only damage I can find is on the rim of one bowl. The very tip of one of the teeth has chipped off.It is not easy to see. Please see the pictures that are included showing that area. There are no cracks or cloudy water stains. Pictures were taken both indoors and outside to give different views.As was standard for Parsche's exclusive commissions for Marshall Field, the piece is physically unsigned, but the pattern is documented and unmistakable. These bowls are a crown-jewel centerpiece for any American Brilliant Period glass collector!
