Recto:
Persian manuscript text accompanied by a geomantic diagram associated with ʿIlm al-Raml (traditional geomancy). The layout, ink, and calligraphic hand are consistent with manuscript practices of the late 18th to early 19th century.
Verso:
Hand-painted Persian miniature depicting a social gathering scene in which men and women are shown drinking together. Mixed-gender wine-drinking scenes constitute a well-established motif in Persian manuscript painting, particularly from the Safavid period onward and into the early Qajar era, where they are commonly associated with courtly leisure, poetic symbolism, and idealized sociability rather than literal depictions of everyday life. The miniature is executed in pigments on paper in a naïve yet expressive style typical of manuscript genre illustrations.
