This is a listing for an exceptional display tower made from an Arizona "Rainbow" Petrified Wood limb.
One side is slabbed to expose the colorful blue red and orange wood grain while preserving the " branch" look of this fossilized tree. I slabbed the bottom flat to reveal more of the colors and so it is self-standing.
Cut so it can be displayed 2 different ways. 1. Standing straight up with one side exposed. 2. Standing on the side so it looks like the limb is laying on its side.
With true rainbow colors, this specimen features blue, orange, yellow, black and red wood grain on the slabbed sides.
Blue is the dominant color at the center of this limb. The colors are surrounded by a brown bark rind on all of the cut edges.
The uncut sides show cellular replacement of the bark. One part has River pebbles attached as this tree was covered by sediment from an ancient river while the wood was being replaced by mineralized water.
I slabbed this premium material in my workshop to expose the most atheisticly appealing colors and patterns while keeping the wood features. This tower I made from a full round limb.
I recently purchased a significant amount of rare types of petrified (Rainbow wood, Ironwood, Woodworthia) from a second-generation rockstore owner's private collection.
