What is Nichiren?
Nichiren Buddhism was founded in the 13th century by the priest Nichiren. It emphasizes the chanting of the mantra \"Nam-myoho-renge-kyo\" as a path of practice, with teachings centered on the Lotus Sutra. The sect’s head temple is Kuon-ji, located on Mount Minobu in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
