Unlike millions of mass-produced stamped metal medals, this piece is an authentic antique watch-case style devotional photo locket (porte-photo) featuring two historic photographic portraits securely sealed back-to-back under thick, domed crystal glass lenses.Crafted in the early 20th century for high-end pilgrims, these fragile glass-faced photo lockets are incredibly scarce today, as very few have survived the past century without shattered glass or ruined photos. It is an absolute centerpiece for any advanced Marian or historical numismatic collection.
    • Side A (The Historic Portrait): Features a rare, beautifully preserved archival halftone photographic portrait of Saint Bernadette Soubirous as a young girl, wearing her traditional Pyrenean peasant attire from the era of the divine apparitions.     • Side B (The Crowned Virgin - Extreme Rarity): Features a rare, real-photo depiction of the famous Crowned Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes (La Vierge Couronnée), erected in front of the Great Basilica in 1876.
