RARE Boyd Glass Lucky Unicorn Bermuda Slag 1985 2nd Five Years UV Reactive:
$168.00

Offered here is a striking Boyd Glass “Lucky the Unicorn” in the highly collectible Bermuda Slag colorway from Boyd’s 2nd Five Years production period.

This example features a dramatic blend of deep burgundy, plum, orange, amber, cream, and white slag, creating a marbled pattern that looks different from every angle. The swirling coloration is especially strong across the body and hindquarter, giving this piece exceptional visual depth.

Under UV light, the warmer orange and red areas show a strong fluorescent response, adding another layer of collector appeal.

Boyd Bermuda Slag

Boyd’s mold-specific production records document Lucky the Unicorn in Bermuda Slag during 1985, placing this example within the 2nd Five Years production period.

Bermuda Slag is notably less common than many of Boyd’s standard solid colors, and the dramatic marbling makes each example unique.

Color & UV Reaction

In normal light, the glass shows a rich mixture of burgundy, plum, amber, orange, cream, and white.

The slag pattern creates a swirling, almost planetary effect across the body, with particularly strong banding around the hindquarter.

Under UV, the warmer portions of the glass become much more intense, producing a vivid glowing contrast against the darker plum and burgundy areas.

Condition

Very good vintage condition.

The figurine displays beautifully with strong color definition and no major damage noted.

Please review all photographs carefully for normal age-appropriate surface wear, mold characteristics, bubbles, tooling marks, and other manufacturing variations associated with vintage pressed glass.

Photos are considered part of the description and condition report.

Collector Appeal

What makes this example especially compelling is the combination of the Bermuda Slag colorway, strong marbling, 1985 production period, and UV-reactive warm tones.

Lucky the Unicorn is a familiar Boyd form, but Bermuda Slag examples appear far less frequently than common solid-color versions, making this a particularly desirable piece for collectors who focus on harder-to-find Boyd colors.
