RARE Vintage JECO Japan Clown & Red Ball Kinetic Art Clock - Very Nice & WORKS!
This is being sold out of our family's collection of treasures.
This very rare and vintage clock was received as a gift from a Japanese friend in 1983. It was used & displayed out of direct sunlight for a time on a shelf in our smoke free home. It ran and kept accurate time over multiple cycles replacing the two AA batteries when they wore out. Many years ago, this was put in a box without batteries and has been kept on a closet shelf since then.
These clocks rarely come up for sale. A clock like the one listed here was sold on Maxsold at sale in August 2025 for $530.
This clock was recently tested for 24 hours and found to keep accurate time. The clown and red ball that hang on the quartz driven kinetic mechanism properly move around in a circle (over and over) representing the seconds hand on a clock. The minute and hour hands on the clock move around properly, too. It is a very eye-catching and entertaining kinetic clock to watch.
The base comes with a yellow paper floor that is in very good condition. Underneath is the quartz watch mechanism and battery compartment. The battery compartment for 1 AA battery is clean inside. A battery will not be included with this listing.
The clown and red ball are in very condition. They have been handled very little. Usually only to rehang on the wire mechanism after needing to turn the clock upside down to change the battery. The square clear plastic case is in clean very good condition, too. No dust. Nothing is cracked or broken. There is some very light surface wear in places on the clear plastic case.
