This historic and outstanding quality piece is a verified product of Stanwell’s revered "Registration Era" (1950s–1960s).The Sixten Ivarsson Pedigree: Shape 04 was originally sculpted for the company by legendary master artisan Sixten Ivarsson. This gorgeous Long-Shank Liverpool features an upright, Liverpool Billiard bowl transitioning into a long, fluid, round shank and a short saddle vulcanite stem.Elite Collector Nomenclature: This rare estate pipe carries full stamped first-generation factory marks. The shank reads "STANWELL" over "Registered No. 969-48" over "HAND MADE". The reverse side reads "04" under "SELECTED BRIAR". See photos. Condition: Outstanding vintage estate condition. The smooth "Selected Briar" finish boasts a magnificent golden-tan luster highlighting a dense, premium field of natural bird's-eye grain blanketing the flanks of the bowl. The bowl rim is flat, with age appropriate carbon darkening. The original vulcanite stem fits perfectly flush and tight to the mortise, holds a deep gloss, with smooth polished age wear.
