Before the Tonnesen Sisters were known for their calendar prints, they were known for supplying
photos of live models for advertising purposes... one of their illusive advertising premiums – “Finishing Touches,”
was an “art platograph” by Tonnesen Sisters ... the vanity table and bench appear to be illustrated – not part of
the original photograph. The leaded glass window was part of Tonnesen’s studio set, so it was in the original photo.The child appeared often in Tonnesen’s work ca. 1900, probably the well-known Chicago child model, Edna Clifford.1886: Founding of Johnson & Johnson: Robert Wood Johnson joined his brothers, James and Edward, and
created a line of ready-to-use sterile surgical dressings in 1886  with 14 employees, eight women and six men.
Johnson\'s Baby Powder was an invention of Dr. Frederick B. Kilmer, company\'s first director of scientific affairs in 1892.
