This original 1941 postally used Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) captures a historic parade scene featuring an incredible giant fish float in front of the Night Hawk Cafe in Camdenton, Missouri. Built by the Lake of the Ozarks Post 193 of the American Legion, this massive largemouth bass parade float was widely recognized after being driven and displayed in a major St. Louis parade before returning to the Ozarks. The historic Night Hawk Cafe, originally established in 1933 by Jack and Toots Stotler, serves as a prominent background landmark. Authentic pre-war real photo postcards that cross-reference specific localized parade floats, regional roadside diners, and verified postal history are highly uncommon. This unique item is a magnificent acquisition for Missouri regional history archives, American Legion ephemera collectors, and vintage roadside Americana enthusiasts.
The post card was sent from Camdenton mo from the Night Hawk Cafe to a C. Barker in Kansas City, asking him about a hat he left behind. The cancellation is June 1941 Camdenton. Pretty thoughtful of the cafe to notify the man about his hat.
