This listing is for a rare antique French mantel clock.
This piece dates to the 18th century.
The base is made from white marble. It was carved into the shape of a column. Upon it stands a bisque porcelain cherub statue.
The clock is ornamented by gilt bronze accents and a nice white porcelain dial. The original gold hands are still attached.
The clock is quite gorgeous. But there are some signs of age. The base has signs of repair. A few small chips to the stone. The bisque porcelain statue has signs of repair. Most notably, the head appears to have been re-attached.
Sadly, the original movement is missing. It was replaced by an electric movement. It is missing its cord. The bezel is attaches to the back door in the traditional French fashion. Though it stays in place, one attaching arm is missing.
This clock measures about 5.7 x 4.15 x 14.8 inches
