The Rare Short & Mason London Stormograph Recording Barometer Model E 2663 is an antique scientific instrument from the early 20th century. Made of brass in the United Kingdom, this barometer is a collectible piece that showcases the craftsmanship and precision of Short & Mason. It is a recording aneroid barometer that automatically charts atmospheric pressure over time, making it a valuable addition to any collection of scientific instruments or barometers.
These high quality scientific instruments were produced between 1910 and 1930s.This barometer is enclosed with a premium beveled glass display case, it has a dedicated chart storage drawer. It has the original ink well and key. It has what appears to be the original instruction leaflet and an original graph and several copies of the graph.
It has not been fully tested but did turn the drum for days when wound with the key.
This barograph is in great antique condition. It has a couple light scratches on the wood base, and some minor pitting on the brass on the cover to the drum that the graph attaches to and inside the drum where the key is. The glass is beveled and in perfect condition, the original ink well is just as pictured looks dried. We wound it lightly and it appeared to work, the graph turned and seemed to be working fine. There is an original graph paper (green) and several photo copies and instruction leaflet in the drawer.Please see the pictures and ask any questions.....we are carefully packing it up and will insure it.
