📌 DESCRIPTION

This 4th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) challenge coin brings together one of the most recognizable parts of the Special Forces training pipeline with a clear command-level recognition purpose. The battalion operates within the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, supporting the development and preparation of 18-series Soldiers through the Special Forces Qualification Course and toward service on an Operational Detachment Alpha.

The obverse carries the banner WHERE THE BROTHERHOOD BEGINS above Special Forces, Ranger and Airborne tabs, the letters ODA, crossed arrows and a fighting knife. Eight surrounding panels read Integrity, Courage, Perseverance, Responsibility, Professionalism, Adaptability, Team Player and Capability. Two Special Forces shoulder-sleeve insignia appear near the bottom alongside the phrase FOR THOSE ON MY LEFT AND RIGHT, reinforcing the team-centered identity running throughout the design.

This 4th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) command coin remains highly displayable with bold teal, black, yellow and white enamel, strong raised lettering and insignia, and well-defined edges, while showing natural patina, finish variation, scattered surface marks and light edge wear from prior handling and display.

The visible aging works particularly well with the antiqued silver-tone finish and remains concentrated in the exposed metal areas, while the colored enamel, inscriptions and major insignia retain strong definition.
