Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible matching pair of original Art Deco Ronson \"Confucius\" bookends, circa 1929. Designed during the height of the Art Deco era\'s fascination with Asian motif\'s, these striking figures feature stylized, geometric Chinese scholars/mandarins in long ceremonial robes.
Heavy Cast Metal Construction: These are solid, substantial pieces. Each bookend weighs 2.65 lbs {5.3 lbs total for the pair), making them perfectly functional for holding up heavy books.
Finish: Beautiful original gold/gilt patina overcast metal, mounted onto tiered black composite bases. Both of the pieces are a little loose on the bases.
