Rare Vintage 1950s Box of Unused Mechanical Pop Up Greeting Cards Lots of Laffs For Sale

Vintage circa 1950s boxed group of 13 unused “Lots of Laffs” mechanical and novelty greeting cards with the original colorful box.

These are not ordinary flat greeting cards. Each card has some type of mechanical, dimensional, pop-up, pull-out or novelty feature that comes to life when the card is opened.

The 13 cards include a great variety of different mechanical effects:

• Huge colorful HAPPY BIRTHDAY letters that unfold and stand up across the entire card
• A card with an actual small jingle bell incorporated into the design
• A fox with an extra-long tail that extends dramatically when the card is opened
• A rooster with a long extending/accordion-style feature
• Monkeys that pop up around a barrel
• Animal characters that spring forward into a dimensional scene
• A bright yellow novelty character that opens into a dimensional pop-up design
• A humorous character card with a projecting mechanical element inside
• A floral/tree design that opens into a dimensional bouquet-style display
• An anniversary card with a dimensional center pop-up between the couple
• A “TOO LATE!” design with a long cascading/pull-down message
• A duck card with the large duck face projecting outward from the card
• A humorous child/baby design with a dimensional mechanical element inside

The group includes birthday, get well, anniversary, missing you and other occasion cards, all with wonderfully goofy mid-century illustrations, bright colors and clever paper engineering.

There are 13 different unused cards included. Each card has the original “Lots of Laffs” logo printed on the back along with its own individual series number, identifying the cards as part of the same series.

The cards also carry the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

The original box does not state how many cards were included when new, so I am not representing this as a complete original set. The 13 cards shown in the photos are the exact cards included in this listing.

All 13 cards are unused and retain their original mechanical and dimensional features. Each card also has its original envelope. They are in very nice vintage condition overall. The original box shows expected age and storage wear.
