Rare Vintage Brass AA "Light Car" Badge 1914-1920 - Serial 202319 - Stamped
These pentagonal-shaped brass badges were short-lived, specifically issued only for light two- or three-seater cars under 11.9 horsepower. Because they were produced in much smaller quantities over a tight 6-year window, they are highly sought after by early motoring enthusiasts
Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful natural brass patina. No cracks or metal fatigue. Distinctive extended wing tips are fully intact and straight. Stamped "Telephone Regent 300" and "Telegrams Fanum London" on the reverse
What These Stamps Mean
- "Fanum" is the Latin word for temple or shrine. The AA chose it as their official telegraphic address, which later inspired the naming of their famous headquarters, Fanum House, in London.
- "Regent 300" was their direct London telephone exchange number during the First World War era
I am selling quite a few bits at the moment so please have a look at my other items for sale.
I am happy to post items together if you are interested in more than one to save you money on postage.
It can normally work out the same price to send two items, as it does to send one, depending on the weight. I would reweigh any items you buy and give you the best (cheapest) option to post.
