Rare Vintage KC Baking Powder Butter & Eggs Grocery Price Counter Sign For Sale

Up for sale is a remarkably well-preserved, 100% guaranteed authentic vintage 1930s KC Baking Powder grocery store counter price sign. This is a premier piece of country store Americana, featuring dual mechanical price wheels on the reverse that allowed shopkeepers to manually change the daily fluctuating prices of grocery staples like butter and eggs.

Historical Context:

Featuring the iconic slogans "25 Ounces for 25¢" and "Same Price Over 40 Years," this specific variant historically dates to the early 1930s (circa 1930–1932). It showcases stunning, vibrant lithographed graphics of a chef making a stack of steaming pancakes alongside the classic KC product tin.

Authenticity & Condition Highlights:

This sign is in excellent, completely original condition with no modern restorations. Please see macro photos for verified markers of true period authenticity:

• Hardware: Features the original old-fashioned, star-crimped/segmented metal eyelet pivots on the reverse, showing genuine age and a stunning blue-green verdigris patina on the copper-alloy grommets.

• Mechanical Wheels: Both cardboard price wheels are intact, completely functional, and spin smoothly.

• Patina: Beautiful, natural age-related foxing and light finger-grease toning along the exposed wheel lips from decades of shopkeeper use. There is light, honest edge wear and faint staining on the reverse cardstock that proves its historic origin without compromising the display appeal.

• Front Display: Exceptional color retention. The graphics remain incredibly sharp, bold, and clean.
