This belt buckle is an incredibly rare, limited-edition commemorative Northrop B-2 Stealth Bomber First Flight belt buckle. This historic piece celebrates the legendary aircraft's maiden flight on July 17, 1989.
FRONT INSCRIPTION:
"First Flight" / "Northrop BAS" / "B2 Team" / "July 17, 1989" with a beautifully detailed raised relief of the B-2 bomber in flight.
BACK INSCRIPTION:
"Golden Crest Jewelers, Inc. - Rapid City, S.D. - Limited Series - 480 of 500"
PROVENANCE & RARITY:
With a strict production run of only 500 pieces, this buckle was not available to the general public. It was manufactured by Golden Crest Jewelers in Rapid City, South Dakota—right next to Ellsworth Air Force Base, which later became a primary home for the B-2 fleet. This piece was almost certainly commissioned as an exclusive corporate presentation gift for high-ranking Northrop project engineers or military brass involved in the development team.
CONDITION:
Excellent, crisp vintage condition. The polished silver and gold-tone finishes are bright with minimal wear. The rear loop and prong are completely intact and sturdy. Please see the high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic details. This belt buckle has been on a display board for most of its life.
