Unusual Vintage Swedish Axe Head – Rare Scandinavian Pattern
Very interesting older Swedish axe head with an unusual and distinctive pattern.
The head features a deep curved recess with a small projecting hook/notch, together with an unusually long and narrow poll. The eye also has a distinctive teardrop shape.
No manufacturer’s stamp can be found on the head. Based on its construction and provenance it is believed to be Swedish. It has similarities to older Swedish specialist axe patterns, and Wetterlings has been suggested as a possible manufacturer, but this cannot be confirmed.
For this reason it is being sold as an unmarked vintage Swedish axe head.
