Rare Vtg American Jersey Cattle Club “Jersey Medal For Merit” For Sale

These high-relief pieces were struck en masse by the Medallic Art Co. N.Y. with the iconic Jersey cow design on the front (sculpted by artist Gozo Kawamura). The American Jersey Cattle Club kept an inventory of these blank medals on hand. When a registered cow officially broke production thresholds during Register of Merit testing, a blank would be taken from the vault, custom-incised on the reverse with the cow's name and year, and shipped to the proud farmer.
