(Former smoke shop owner — retired) This is my personal vintage Stanwell Royal Guard, Shape 190, proudly stamped MADE IN DENMARK.Purchased by me around 1998, this beautiful pipe has been smoked approximately three times in nearly three decades and has been carefully preserved ever since.The pipe remains in almost NOS condition. The finish is still exceptionally glossy, the briar is beautiful, and the mouthpiece shows virtually no tooth/bite marks. The chamber and rim are exceptionally clean, reflecting the extremely limited use.This is a genuine vintage Danish-era Stanwell, not a later “Danish Design” example. It represents the period when Stanwell pipes were actually manufactured in Denmark.A very special collector’s pipe with an exceptionally documented history and remarkably little smoking wear.I am offering it reluctantly because this has been one of my personal favorites.
