This special lidded soup tureen by French ceramicist Robert Picault is a rare vintage beauty from the early 1950s. Picault is known for green ceramics made by mixing copper & iron oxide. His pieces are highly coveted & highly collectible.
This particular piece features a green base with an etched geometric lattice, X, and swirl pattern. The base has handles. There is a matching lid. The interior of both the base and the lid is glazed white.
In addition to using this as a traditional soup tureen, this would be great as a jar for candy, to store cotton balls in the bathroom, or just as a decorative treasure on your bookshelf.
