Rare 1920 First-Edition B.P.O.E Elks Lodge Desk Lamp by S.Robert Schwartz & Bro. Original shade & great working order. This is an incredible rare, early 1920’s industrial Art Nouveau gooseneck desk lamp. This model features a custom-commissioned or lodge-issued cast iron base with the detailed relief emblem of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. The motif shows the classic B.P.O.E iconography: a detailed elk’s head framed by the traditional clock dial permanently frozen at the 11th hour-symbol dedicated to absent members. It has been modified with a vintage blue “evil eye” cabochon inset. This piece is an exceptional one-of-a-kind. The underside states - “Patent Applied For”. This indicates it is a highly desirable first edition production or prototype model. Late 1920 to mid-1921.Retains its original period correct metal shade and authentic untouched aged patina on the base. Approx. 12-14”- fully extended.
