ABOUT THIS IMAGE
SEAN CONNERY
Thunderball Underwater Rehearsal BTS Nassau Photo
A rare behind-the-scenes production photograph featuring Sean Connery rehearsing the celebrated underwater sequence from Thunderball (1965) in Nassau, Bahamas. Wearing his frogman harness between takes, Connery playfully flexes his muscles while preparing to film the scene in which James Bond first encounters Domino after discovering her trapped beneath the water. This candid image offers a fascinating glimpse into the production of one of the most iconic underwater adventures in James Bond history.
THUNDERBALL(1965)
Released in 1965, Thunderball was the fourth James Bond film produced by Eon Productions and starred Sean Connery in one of his most celebrated performances as Agent 007. Directed by Terence Young and based on Ian Fleming\'s novel, the film became the highest-grossing James Bond adventure of its era, renowned for its spectacular underwater action, exotic Bahamian locations, and ambitious production scale that helped redefine the modern spy film.
The film featured an outstanding international cast, including Claudine Auger as Domino Derval, Luciana Paluzzi as the unforgettable SPECTRE assassin Fiona Volpe, Adolfo Celi as Emilio Largo, Rik Van Nutter as Felix Leiter, and Martine Beswick as Paula Caplan. Today, Thunderball remains one of the most influential entries in the James Bond series, with its original publicity photographs, behind-the-scenes images, and production memorabilia among the most prized collectibles in the world of 007.
