SET 2 Antique GEBRUDER HEUBACH Porcelain Figurines BOY & GIRL W MILK JUGS c1900

Size:

Girl is 12" high x 4" wide at widest, Boy is 11 7/8" high x 4" wide at widest.

Beautiful fine porcelain figurines meticulously handmade circa approx. 1900

A graceful and elegant depiction of a girl and a boy in the 'peasant' style which was so popular in the late Victorian era.

Bisque porcelain with a matte finish, but there is some gloss enamel on the clothing patterning

The girl is holding a milk jug in her right arm and the corner of her apron in her left hand. She has a kerchief on her head and a ruffled blouse with a vest. Her clothing and shoelaces have hand-applied gold gilding.

The boy is holding a handled milk jug in each hand. He is wearing a peasant style hat and shirt and knee length trousers, with tall socks. His clothing and shoe edges have hand-applied gold gilding.

Both figurines are painted with soft pastel colors in a matte finish. Both have polka dots on their clothing- the girl has gold gilt dots on her apron, the boy has cobalt blue dots on his shirt.

Both are supported by a large tree trunk with very small bark and limb detailing, which theGEBRUDER HEUBACH company used on most of its larger figurines. The tree trunks add a beautiful and finished touch.

The boy has the number 76 hand painted in gold in antique script on the inside of his base.

Looks gorgeous from any angle

A very nice size, quite heavy. Magnificent quality.

Excellent antique condition but for one very minor chip at the tip of the spout on the pitcher in the boy's right hand - very minor and difficult to notice because it is downward facing & small. See last photo.3 tiny fleabite nicks at the boy's base where it would rest against a table- normal for age.Other than that the set is PRISTINE- No nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, fading or repair. Flawless.

Highly collectible and very rare estate pieces.Wonderful for a serious collector and would look beautiful on display
