Up sale is a Phenomenal set of original vintage silver-tone police badges from the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair beautifully displayed on blue and orange felt.
The larger shield-shaped badge reads "N.Y. WORLD'S FAIR POLICE" across the top, it features the New York State emblem, with the Trylon and Perisphere symbol, and displays the engraved number 173 at the bottom. The smaller badge, likely a hat badge, features an eagle with wings spread, it is inscribed with "NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR POLICE" and the New York State coat of arms.
Security at the 1964–1965 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, Queens, was famously managed in part by the Pinkerton agency and sworn-in New York State special police.
The larger badge measures approximately 3” x 3”
With the smaller badge measuring 2” x 2”
