Vintage black-and-white photograph showing a large formation of McDonnell F-101 Voodoo twin-engine USAF fighter jets (1950s Cold War era), hand-signed and inscribed in ink by Maj. Gen. James V. Edmundson, USAF (later promoted to Lieutenant General).
Correction: This item was previously described (on another platform) as showing F-86 Sabre jets. An aviation-knowledgeable collector kindly pointed out that they are not F-86s — the twin-engine, T-tail aircraft visible in the photo are McDonnell F-101 Voodoos. The description has been corrected accordingly.
The handwritten inscription reads:"To Herb Massengale, in appreciation & with warmest personal regards. Sincerely, J. Edmundson, Maj Gen USAF."
Details:- Photo measures 14.5" x 11.5", framed- One signature, inscribed to a named recipient (personalized inscription)- No COA included — please review all photos carefully- Condition: good; signature and inscription are clear and fully intact
A striking piece of Cold War aviation history, ready to hang or add to a military memorabilia collection.
