\'Historic Autographs\' uploads scans the documents from which their presidential signatures were cut. However, to satisfy my own curiosity... After much due diligence I was able to locate the acquisition of the actual document from which this was cut, including the provenance —
This signature was signed by Jefferson on November 3, 1807 while in office as PRESIDENT.
THIS WAS SUBMITTED TO PSA FOR ENCAPSULATION AND CAME BACK AS “AUTOGRAPH AUTHENTIC”… however, it needs to be resubmitted and slabbed through their blue label; “PSA / DNA” if you want to have it ‘PSA Slabbed’ as I had indented. However, the great news is as expected, the Autograph came back “AUTHENTIC”… (it is after all from a credible trading card manufacturer \'Historic Autographs LLC)

Provenance of the actual Signed Document from which this Jefferson Signature was cut from:\"Thomas Jefferson and James Madison Scalloped-Top Ship\'s Passport Signed.One partially printed page of vellum, 10.75\" x 15.25\", Port of Philadelphia; November 3, 1807. Mediterranean ship\'s passport, numbered 113, issued to the \"Ship Favourite of New York,\" captained by Erazmus Peirce, and crewed with ten men. It authorized the ship, which had \"the burthen of two hundred thirty seven & 54/95th tons or thereabouts...to pass with her Company, Passengers, Goods, and Merchandize, without any hinderance, seizure of molestation.\" Signed by Jefferson as President, \"Th: Jefferson.\" Countersigned byJames Madisonas Secretary of State. With maritime vignettes and a blind-embossed seal in the lower-left corner. .
