Here is some political history I found in an old book at an estate sale.
A thank-you card signed by President Gerald Ford & Betty Ford from October 1974, complete with envelope and a 10-cent stamp. These acknowledgment cardswere sent out in response to the massive wave of public support following her breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent mastectomy in September 1974. This envelope was slit along the top
Also a card from Mamie Eisenhower (not signed) with envelope mailed on May 19, 1969. These were sent by the former First Lady to express gratitude for expressions of sympathy following the death of her husband, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, in March 1969. The envelope was open via the flap.
