The History of Freemasonry, Volume VI Albert G. Mackey & William R. SingletonOriginal First Printing, 1898 — Masonic History Company
This is the true scarce 1898 first printing, not the more common 1906 reprint. Early printings are significantly scarcer and are preferred by collectors for their historical authenticity and original binding, gilt detailing, and marbled endpapers.
The book remains in good antique condition for its 127‑year age. The binding shows some looseness, and the first two pages—as well as the final four—are detached but fully present. A previous Masonic owner applied tape to the rear to reinforce it. Light water marks appear on a few pages, along with expected edge wear consistent with age. The text block is complete, clean, fully legible, and free of any musty odor. Features the original cloth binding with gilt detailing and marbled endpapers.
This copy also features a period presentation inscription from a lodge member, adding historical provenance and a direct connection to a practicing Mason of the era.
