The Holy Bible Pictorial Family Bible Self-Pronouncing Illustrated 1896? 1938 For Sale

For sale is this Holy Bible that is a pictorial family Bible from between 1896 to 1938. There is no copyright in the Bible. I have thoroughly researched this Bible and all indications are that the copyright is 1896. However, the Bible has "1938" hand written on the dedication page and there is a receipt from the salesman with a handwritten note on the back dated June 11,1938 when it was purchased from a traveling salesman for Southwestern Co, Publishers. The purchase price was $8.85. The Bible appears to be leather bound with a gilded front, spine, and back. The spine is intact but a little loose. The binding itself is solid with no loose pages. There is slight foxing noted on some pages, but most are in very good condition. No tears noted. The title page indicates that this Bible is self-pronouncing and illustrated, making it a unique and visually engaging religious collectible for Christians. The bottom corners are slightly frayed and rounded, the cover more so than the back. The top and bottom of the spine have slight wear/buckling (probably due to being upright in a book case and being removed). The gilding is intact, but slightly faded (or at least I believe it to be as it is no longer as bright I would expect). There is writing on the inner page indicating gifts and teas given and attended by a few people. The dedication page is filled out and dated 1938. The edges of pages are marble design.The bible measures 12" x 10" and weighs over 8 pounds. The Bible includes images and explanations to aid in understanding and interpretation of the text, providing a dynamic and interactive way to engage with the teachings of Christianity. This is at a minimum a nearly 100 year old Bible (1938-2026) and possibly 140 years old if printed in 1896. This will be mailed media mail unless another method is desired.
