This is a carte de visite photograph that is 4 x 2½ inches (104x63mm).

It shows a woman standing in traditional Welsh dress, including a tall black hat over a lace cap, a checked shawl, and a checked apron over a striped skirt. She is holding a wooden tub under her left arm and carrying a basket in her right hand. The front margin is printed with "Welsh Costume." and "[Copyright.]".

The reverse has an oval blue ink stamp for "W. B. Robathan, Silversmith, Jeweller, Stationer, and Importer of Fancy Goods, The Royal Lounge, 95, Mostyn St. Llandudno". A pencil annotation reads "462-22" at the bottom.
